Diane Eaton: It is with great sorrow that we sadly announce the passing of one of our dear friends. Mrs. Diane Eaton, left us on Thursday, April 30, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Eaton, wife of our current School Head, David Eaton, was a dedicated teacher, mentor and friend to so many of us at NISC. PYP Adoption: Throughout this school year the elementary grades have been focusing on adopting the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). We continue to pursue the goal of becoming an IB school and have hired a PYP coordinator for next school year to advance us towards the goal of becoming authorized by the IBO. more...

A new day: Recently, our grade two students made a return visit to A New Day. A New Day is an organization that provides for orphaned children, and the NISC students wanted to lend a hand. Our students took a book to share, which was good fun. We also worked with the New Day students to create a cooperative diagram. For this activity, we labeled pictures with English words. more...

New Website: During May, 2009, NISC launched the new version of www.niscambodia.com. Nearly a year in the making, the new site is not only beautiful, but it promises to deliver the most up-to-date information regarding events at the school and a higher level of user interfacing than our previous version. Science Forum: On February 13 and 14, NISC's grade 10, 11 & 12 students spoke at our annual Science Forum. This year's theme was Genetic Engineering and Other Applications of Science Technology in Cambodia and Its near Asian Neighbors. Our students lectured on a variety of topics including pacemakers, LASER eye surgery, chemotherapy, prosthetic limbs, and dog cloning. more...

Track and Field Day: On Friday, February 13, 2009, NISC held its annual Track & Field Invitational. From 8:00 AM until noon, competitors in grades 3 to 5 from Hope School, Logos, ISPP, CIA International School, and NISC took part in this thrilling event filled with close races, some amazing athleticism and a lot of fun. more...

Chinese New Year: We love to celebrate! At the end of January, all students, teachers and staff from NISC gathered in our gymnasium to celebrate Chinese New Year. Those in attendance were treated to an awe inspiring presentation by a local troop of performers. The favorite show of all was undoubtedly the Dragon Dance which culminated in some of our students getting a free ride. more...
