August 5, 2010 Update

AT THIS TIME ALL POSITIONS FOR THE 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR HAVE BEEN FILLED. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN NISC, PLEASE KEEP CHECKING THE WEBSITE. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST PLACE JOBS WILL BE POSTED.

NISC will be attending the Search Fair in Bangkok (January 2011) and perhaps the Search London Fair (January 2011).

For your information, we are currently (2010-2011) in our second year as a PYP Candidate School. We hope to be fully authorized by October of 2011. In addition, we are now a DP candidate school, we have employed a DP Coordinator, and our DP Authorization visit is scheduled for the Spring of 2011. The graduating class of 2013 will receive our first DP Diploma. We have hired an MYP Coordinator to begin in August of 2010 and in 2011 we will apply for MYP candidate status. We will continue to offer many Advanced Placement opportunities through 2012. We have been fully accredited by WASC for the past ten years and are currently accredited through 2013.

We would prefer to employ IB trained and experienced teachers however, because we are new to the IB, we are also prepared to provide training to outstanding teachers who have little or no IB experience. If you are not an IB experienced teacher and would like that opportunity, we hope you see NISC as a place to learn and to grow.

Following are pre-requisites to employment at NISC:

• A valid passport.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in the subject(s) or area(s) in which you are applying to teach, coordinate or supervise.
• A valid and current Teaching Certificate or License from a recognized institution, state or country in the subject / area of hire.
• A minimum of two (2) full years of recent successful and relevant experience teaching the subject / working in the area of hire.
• (Not required, but preferred) Experience teaching overseas in an international school.
