Elementary Student-Led Conferences

It is hard to believe, but we are already beginning to plan conferences for the second semester of the 2009-10 school year! These student-Led Conferences will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, March 17 & March 18. These conferences are especially important because they create the opportunity for the child, parent, and teacher to discuss student progress.
This semester at the elementary level, conferences will be led by students; this will allow them to take responsibility for sharing their learning. We recognize that the importance of the conferences and have provided additional time for each conference. This semester, in grades K-6, the conferences will be scheduled for 25 minutes, for the boys and girls in nursery and prekindergarten, the conferences will be scheduled for 20 minutes.
A letter with additional information about the conference and a time schedule for setting up the conferences will be coming in the near future. It is my hope that both parents can attend conferences and of course, to continue to discuss on a daily basis what your child is learning at school.
