Roy G. Crawford, NISC School Head - Updated February 12, 2010

As is common in international schools, 10 teachers will be leaving NISC this year to pursue other opportunities throughout the world. Beginning with this issue, I will be introducing you to the teachers who have been recruited to replace them. Much as we will miss our departing teachers, I am very excited about the quality of teachers who will be joining our school community.
Bei and Ian Hunt will be assuming the positions of Upper School Music and Middle School Math and Science. The Hunts have been teaching at The International School of Azerbaijan (TISA) since 2005. Bei Hunt has degrees from the Royal Welch College of Music and Drama (UK), the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK) and Shinxu University (China). Over the past 18 years she has been an instructor in London, Dubai, Bahrain, and Azerbaijan. Her current principal describes her as the best music teacher he has ever worked with.
Ian Hunt is the current Head of Science at TISA and teaches in both the MYP (Middle Years) and DP (Diploma Program) of the IB (International Baccalaureate). He has deep and rich experience in designing and implementing curriculum components of the IB, and in addition to his teaching assignment here at NISC, he will serve as our first DP Coordinator as we attempt to be DP authorized by July of 2011. Mr. Hunt has post-graduate degrees in Physics and Astronomy and in Educational Management. His teaching history is similar to Bei’s: England, Dubai, Bahrain, and Azerbaijan.
The Hunt’s have a 14 year old son, Owen, who loves soccer and is looking forward to being a 9th grader at NISC. The Hunt family will live here in the Northbridge Community.
