The Importance of Regular Sustenance

Studies show that a healthy and regular diet is an important part of a good education. We strive to provide, if desired, the very best food for everyone at our school. All NISC students have a mid-morning break, making available healthy snacks. Students may bring snacks along with appropriate drinks (milk, juice, etc.) from home or else purchase them from the school Lunch Box snack cart.

All students eat lunch in the cafeteria in age-appropriate shifts. Students have approximately 20 minutes for eating and 20 to 25 minutes for recreational play. Students may bring their lunch from home or else purchase a lunch program option.

Regular tap water at the school – though from the municipal source of Phnom Penh – is not considered potable. Students are cautioned against drinking from the general water supply. However, commercially prepared drinking water is available at all times from water coolers located around NISC. Each elementary student is given their own plastic cup to use for drinking water. Upper school students should bring their own plastic drinking containers.
