Second grade students love to read. They are taught to extend their
literacy skills helping them to become more proficient readers and
writers. Second grade is also a time to grow a student’s math
abilities, extending their knowledge of number sense and simple
mathematical operations, while introducing them to more complex
calculations.
The IB/PYP approach to learning allows these students to question,
hypothesize, investigate and test the world around them by delving
into six significant curricular themes throughout the year. In
addition, the cross-disciplinary support of this learning helps to
ensure that second grade students delve into their learning with
tremendous depth and breadth.
