Grade five students are an important part of the Elementary School. Fifth graders blossom in a nurturing atmosphere that supports social
interaction and high-leveled learning. Through integrated, inquiry
based experiences these students maximize their potential for language
development while developing into solid writers. They explore both
narrative and expository writing while becoming solid and organized
communicators through their written work. In addition, fifth grade
students boost their literacy proficiency through reading groups that
tackle both classic and contemporary novels.
The fifth grade students are beginning to make the transition to
middle school. They take part in many adolescently appropriate
experiences including Cambodia studies, in which they travel outside
of Phnom Penh to experience learning from and contributing to the
Khmer people.
