NISC's Advanced Placement (AP) Program

The Advance Placement program is a rigorously demanding program of study whereby the students challenge themselves with learning beyond high school level. Students wishing to take the AP offerings at NISC must be academically minded and disciplined scholars.

The AP Program at NISC has grown rapidly over the last four years. NISC has offered the following AP courses:

Literature and Composition
World History
English Language and Composition
History
Calculus AB
Computers (ICT)
Comparative Politics
Biology
Studio Art
2D Design

AP courses are offered to grade 11 and 12 student. Students who undertake AP courses gain the chance to earn college credit and can also work towards the completion of the AP International Diploma (APID) in addition to their NISC High School diploma.

NISC also offers students the chance to be a part of an AP Independent Study program. This program gives students the chance to complete AP courses independently of their enrolled High School classes. This program allows students to expand their exposure to AP courses.

Recently students completed AP Independent study courses in the following areas: Statistics, Physics, French Language and Japanese Language and Culture

AP courses are demanding, but also can be very rewarding. For additional information about the AP Program, contact the NISC AP Coordinator who can be reached through the school office.
